Everyone knows they feel better when they have a good attitude about life in general, but more specifically, every thought you have affects your health! When a thought pops into your mind, you must do something with it, so often those thoughts go undetected by our conscious mind.
When you start to consider how it has come about that you have gained those extra pounds, you will most likely find that somewhere along the way, you stopped considering the outcome of your weight gain on your well being.
I have yet to find those people who have gained excessive weight, only to say in the end, "I choose being obese, over being healthy." In other words, we do not find that after a certain age, we no longer care or are concerned with our weight gain, quite the contrary, we actually become more concerned with the excessive weight gain, as we have come to know that obesity is responsible for many various diseases of life and it seems much more difficult to pull out of those extra pounds.
When you become diseased, you actually become more aware to the acute needs of a healthy body, than one who has not acquired a disease. Realizing before one contracts diabetes for instance, that our diet and exercise regimen, can deter the disease, in many cases, does nothing, if we do not take action.
Action may be a small amount of movement at first, or it may easily be a great run or dance, perhaps a climb up stairs, or a mountain, depending on your current state of health. Whatever the action you are equipped to take, take it!
Don't procrastinate, as our health is the single most important foundational element of our existence.
Have fun, when you think of exercise, think of it like this, "I am so grateful for the opportunity to move my body and develop a more healthy lifestyle, in the process."
When you think of eating and dietary habits, think of them like this, "I am grateful for food, I enjoy eating food to nourish and replenish my body's needs. I am grateful for the energy this food gives me, I will consider the nutritional value and benefits I can derive from eating it."
It never behooves us to focus on the negative results we have managed to bring into the light of our lives. When you focus on those things that are good, you are setting yourself up for success. With small successes, we learn to accomplish the great responses, so, as you choose which foods to put in your body, remember to first analyze the dietary value, weigh it against the amount of exercise it will take to burn up the extra calories, then decide whether or not it is right for you at that time.
There is a time to eat everything you want to eat, it is just a matter of recognizing when that time is! If you want chocolate, eat chocolate, if you want carrots, eat carrots, your body is the teller of its needs, listen to your inner self, set yourself up for success. Eat only when you are hungry, then only enough to satisfy the hunger, you can eat again, as soon as you are hungry, so don't follow your habit of eating too much at any one time, there will be another time to eat.
